About Us

Michael W. Lowden is the founding Partner and an attorney with the Lowden Law Firm.  He received his Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Cum Laude, from Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio.  He continued his education at William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota, and received his MBA with an emphasis in Health Care Administration from Moorhead State.  Mr. Lowden  is very committed to assisting and helping Veterans, having served in the United States Army, both active and Army National Guard.    Michael W. Lowden is admitted to practice in the State of Minnesota, the United States District Court of Minnesota, and the United State Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
 
Mr. Lowden has handled cases in both state and federal court, including arguments before the Minnesota Court of Appeals and Minnesota Supreme Court, involving no-fault claims, coverage issues, product liability claims, subrogation/indemnification, medical provider fraud, insurance fraud and other insurance defense as well as general business cases.  In addition to advising and defending insurance companies and their insureds, Mr. Lowden provided the framework and language for the Minnesota Insurance Fraud Prevention Act, which was passed in 2002.  He has also assisted military personnel being deployed with drafting or updating their wills.  
 

Shari L. Lowden Partner with the Lowden Law Firm since June 2011.  She received her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work, Phi Beta Kappa, from the College of St. Catherine’s with a minor in Criminal Justice.  During college she interned in the Hennepin County Attorneys Office Victim/Witness Program working closely with prosecuting attorneys as well as crime victims and witnesses. She continued her education at William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota.  While in law school, she worked in the litigation unit of a national insurance company handling personal line files that were in litigation.  After graduating from law school she was admitted to practice law in Minnesota and started her career as a claims professional, working for a regional insurance company handling both personal and commercial lines claims. During that time, she represented the company's insureds in conciliation court.  

 

Ms. Lowden joined the Lowden Law Firm in 2011 coming from the Law Office of Stilp and Grove where she was Regional SIU Counsel for Liberty Mutual Group.  Ms. Lowden is admitted to practice in the State of Minnesota and the United States District Court of Minnesota.  She has litigated jury trials from slip and fall cases, insurance coverage, construction defect, automobile personal injury cases and insurance fraud cases.  In addition, Ms. Lowden has  handled numerous no-fault arbitrations and examinations under oath.  Ms. Lowden is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association and Hennepin County Bar Association.
